Dassault Systèmes

Dassault Systèmes is a French software company headquartered in Vélizy-Villacoublay, near Paris. It makes 3D design, simulation, manufacturing and product lifecycle management (PLM) software. It was founded in 1981 to bring computer-aided design (CAD) to aerospace, and belongs to the wider Dassault group. The company says it serves more than 390,000 customer companies across 12 industries.

The products listed on appadvisor.in come from several of its brands. CATIA is its high-end CAD system for aerospace and automotive design, and SOLIDWORKS is a widely used mid-market 3D CAD system that Dassault acquired in 1997. DraftSight is 2D drafting software. DELMIAworks, formerly IQMS, is manufacturing ERP software for small and mid-sized manufacturers. Its wider 3DEXPERIENCE platform also covers simulation, product data management and collaboration.

In India, Dassault sells through its own sales teams for large engineering, automotive and aerospace customers and through value-added resellers for SOLIDWORKS and DraftSight. Prices are usually quoted per licence, either as a permanent licence with annual maintenance or as a subscription. Buyers usually get quotes from authorised resellers, not from a public price list.

Dassault Systèmes is listed on Euronext Paris. Pascal Daloz became CEO in January 2024 and also took over as Chairman of the Board on 21 February 2026, when Bernard Charlès stepped down. The company sells its products under 12 brands and says its long-term aim is to show how the virtual world can improve and extend the real one. It paid about USD 310 million in stock for SOLIDWORKS in 1997. Pascal Daloz had worked at the company for about 25 years before he became CEO.
