About Oracle
Oracle Corporation is a US enterprise software and cloud infrastructure company headquartered in Austin, Texas. It was founded in 1977 and is best known for the Oracle Database. It now also sells Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and a large portfolio of cloud applications. Oracle's fiscal 2026 Form 10-K reports about 141,000 full-time employees at 31 May 2026, of whom about 92,000 work outside the US.
For Indian businesses, the most relevant Oracle products are Oracle NetSuite, a cloud ERP for small and mid-sized companies with an India localisation for GST, and Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications for large enterprises, covering ERP, procurement, EPM, HCM and SCM. Oracle also sells Oracle Database and OCI. Oracle acquired NetSuite for about US$9.3 billion; the deal was announced in July 2016 and completed on 7 November 2016. NetSuite had been an independent cloud ERP vendor before the deal and is now run as a business unit within Oracle.
Oracle sells mainly through direct enterprise sales, and NetSuite also through solution providers and implementation partners. NetSuite and Fusion subscriptions are quoted per user or per module, and NetSuite does not publish list prices. Oracle priced the NetSuite deal at US$109.00 per share in cash.
Since 22 September 2025, Clay Magouyrk and Mike Sicilia have been Oracle's CEOs. Safra Catz, CEO since 2014, became Executive Vice Chair of the board. Co-founder Larry Ellison remains Chairman and Chief Technology Officer. Oracle trades on the NYSE under the symbol ORCL. Oracle's fiscal 2026 annual report says about 49,000 of its employees work in the US.
