Adobe

Adobe Inc. is a US software company headquartered in San Jose, California. John Warnock and Charles Geschke founded it in 1982 with the aim, in Adobe's words, of revolutionising printing and publishing with an all-digital approach. Adobe is listed on Nasdaq under the symbol ADBE, and Shantanu Narayen is Chair and Chief Executive Officer. Adobe's leadership team also includes David Wadhwani, President of the Creativity and Productivity business, and Anil Chakravarthy, President of the Customer Experience Orchestration business.

Adobe's business has two broad parts. Creativity and productivity covers Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro), Adobe Express, Acrobat and Acrobat Sign. Customer experience covers the Adobe Experience Cloud, which includes Adobe Analytics, Adobe Campaign, Marketo Engage, Adobe Commerce (Magento) and Workfront. For Indian businesses, Acrobat and Creative Cloud are often bought as individual or team subscriptions, while Experience Cloud products are sold to larger enterprises.

Adobe sells subscriptions directly through its website and apps and through resellers. Enterprise deals go through its direct sales teams and partners. India is one of Adobe's largest locations: its FY2025 Form 10-K lists offices in Bengaluru and Noida, each of about 0.7 million square feet, as its largest properties outside the United States. Individual Creative Cloud and Acrobat plans are sold as monthly or annual subscriptions, and enterprise Experience Cloud contracts are negotiated case by case. Adobe opened its seventh Indian office, in Sector 129, Noida, which is reported to bring together more than 700 employees.

Much of Adobe's growth has come through acquisitions. These include Macromedia (2005), Omniture (2009), Day Software (2010), Behance (2012), Fotolia (2015), Magento and Marketo (2018), Allegorithmic (2019), Workfront (2020) and Frame.io (2021).
