Reliance Jio

Jio is the digital services business of Reliance Industries. Its holding company, Jio Platforms Limited, was incorporated in November 2019 and owns Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, India's largest mobile network operator, which was incorporated in February 2007 and launched commercial 4G services in 2016. Both entities are registered in Ahmedabad, and their corporate offices are at Reliance Corporate Park in Ghansoli, Navi Mumbai.

For businesses, the Jio group offers JioBusiness connectivity (fibre broadband, leased lines, SIM plans and SD-WAN), cloud and productivity services, JioMeet video conferencing, IoT solutions and AI services. It also owns digital companies relevant to SMEs, including Haptik, which makes conversational AI and the Interakt WhatsApp commerce tool, and it has partnerships with global technology firms.

Jio publishes prices for its consumer and small-business mobile and broadband plans, while enterprise connectivity and cloud contracts are quoted individually. It sells through Jio stores, a large retail and dealer network, online channels and a direct enterprise sales force.

In 2020 Jio Platforms raised substantial investment from Meta (Facebook), Google and several financial investors, while Reliance Industries kept a majority stake. According to press reports on its filings, Mukesh Ambani is non-executive Chairman of Jio Platforms, Akash Ambani became Managing Director in April 2026, and Mathew Oommen was redesignated Group President in June 2026. On 19 June 2026, Jio Platforms filed a draft red herring prospectus with SEBI for an IPO that includes a fresh issue of up to 27 crore equity shares. The DRHP is the most detailed public disclosure of the company's structure, financials and risk factors. The Jio group also operates the MyJio app, JioCinema-related media services and JioFinance through related Reliance group entities.
