Razorpay Subscriptions has no setup fee or annual maintenance charge. Its pricing page lists card subscriptions at 0.9% plus the platform fee per transaction, where the standard domestic platform fee is 2%. Rates for UPI, NACH and e-mandate subscriptions are shared on request. Razorpay adds 18% GST on its fee, not on the amount your customer pays.
Razorpay does not offer a time-limited trial of Subscriptions itself. Instead, you can build and test your full subscription flow in test mode without charging anyone, and going live has no setup fee. Separately, the product lets you give your own customers trial periods that start charging automatically when the trial ends.
Both run on the same RBI mandate rails, so UPI AutoPay and e-mandate behave similarly. Razorpay Subscriptions makes most sense if you already use Razorpay for one-time payments, since it shares the Dashboard, settlements and plugins for WooCommerce, Magento and OpenCart. Compare negotiated UPI and e-mandate rates from both, because neither is fully published on the Razorpay side.
