Quick answer: Published hospital and lab software prices in India run from ₹1,000 a month (Medoc HMS, single-doctor clinic) to ₹25,000 a month (CrelioHealth LIMS Premium), with DocEngage and Healthray listing a hospital plan at ₹1,299 per user per month. True multi-department hospitals still get quotes from KareXpert or DocPulse. Treat every licence as a starting point, because onboarding, SMS, analyser interfaces and extra logins are billed separately on several of these pages.

How we researched this: We opened the pricing and product pages of each vendor named below, plus the Press Information Bureau's July 2026 backgrounder on the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission and a March 2026 National Medical Commission letter on hospital information systems. Every price is as shown on the vendor's own page in October 2026 and can change.

HMS, HIMS, EMR, LIMS: what you are actually pricing

Vendors use these labels loosely, and the label decides the price band, so pin them down before you collect quotes.

  • Clinic or practice software covers appointments, a doctor's notes and billing for outpatient work. Prices are per doctor or per user.
  • HMS or HIMS (hospital information management system) adds in-patient admission, bed and room management, nursing, discharge, pharmacy and a lab link. Prices move to per-module, per-bed or per-facility quotes.
  • LIS or LIMS (laboratory information management system) runs sample collection, analyser interfaces, report approval and delivery. Diagnostic centres usually buy it on its own, priced per month by tests, bills or logins.
  • Pharmacy inventory SaaS handles batches, expiry, purchase orders and GST billing. It is the cheapest layer, often under ₹1,000 a month.

A 25-bed nursing home in Nagpur will need an HMS plus a small lab module and a pharmacy module. A standalone diagnostic centre in Surat needs a LIMS and nothing else. Mixing the two up makes quotes impossible to compare, so state which layers you need before you ask for a price.

Hospital and clinic suite prices (checked October 2026)

SoftwarePublished priceWhat the page says it covers
Medoc HMSStarting from ₹1,000 a month for a single-doctor clinic in IndiaA per-clinic subscription, not per user; the final quote depends on doctors and staff, modules, branches and cloud or on-premise
DocEngage Clinic Management₹499 (Basic) or ₹699 (Advanced) per user per month, billed annually; ₹30,000 or ₹36,000 a year per care centre, up to 10 usersAppointments, billing and reminders; Advanced adds EMR, prescriptions and pharmacy
DocEngage Hospital Management System₹1,299 per user per month, billed annually, or ₹54,000 a year per care centre, up to 10 users; enterprise (200+ users) on quote"End to end workflows in hospital for OPD, IPD with bed management"
HealthrayThe same plan names and rupee prices as DocEngage's, per its pricing pageHospital Management System plan at ₹1,299 per user per month, billed annually
DocPulseModular; quote through sales, with a one-week assisted trialOPD, IPD, lab, pharmacy, billing and inventory modules connected in one HIMS
KareXpertPricing page lists no figuresIntegrated HIMS, EMR, LIMS, RIS/PACS and pharmacy modules

Two points from that table deserve attention. The DocEngage and Healthray pages publish the same price card, down to the fine print that subscriptions are "subject to annual revision to cover inflation cost". Ask both which legal entity signs the contract and who provides support, because two vendor names on one price list is a procurement question, not a price question.

Second, the care-centre price only covers up to 10 users. At ₹54,000 a year, DocEngage's HMS plan is cheaper than paying per user from the fourth user onward (₹1,299 × 12 = ₹15,588 per user per year, so 4 users cost ₹62,352), but the page says additional providers, whether or not they have a login, cost extra and the patient app is billed separately. A 30-bed hospital with more than 10 staff users must ask what happens at user 11.

Diagnostic lab (LIMS) prices

Lab software is the layer where vendors most often publish plan prices, and two of them do so below.

CrelioHealth (CrelioHealth LiveHealth) lists India plans on its LIMS pricing page, each plus 18% GST:

PlanPer monthOnboarding feeLicences included
Standard₹8,000₹10,0006 user logins, 3 analyser interfaces
Advanced₹15,000₹20,00010 user logins, 4 analyser interfaces, 50 B2B report-view logins
Premium₹25,000₹50,00012 user logins, 6 analyser interfaces, B2B and collection-centre login packs
EnterpriseCustomCustomAs required

CrelioHealth says Standard suits labs doing up to 75 tests a day, and Advanced adds home collection with GPS tracking, multi-location management and QC analytics. At ₹8,000 a month, Standard costs ₹96,000 a year before GST, plus the ₹10,000 onboarding fee.

Labsmart (Labsmart) publishes a very different scale: its pathology lab plans on the yearly view are Basic at ₹4,999 plus GST, Advanced at ₹7,499 and Premium at ₹9,999, with 12,000 bills included on Basic and Advanced and 20,000 on Premium. Its diagnostic-centre plans run from ₹10,000 to ₹20,000 plus GST a year. SMS is charged at 20 paise per credit, and the page offers a five-day free trial. The gap between ₹4,999 and ₹96,000 a year is not a bargain, it is scope: CrelioHealth's Standard plan lists analyser interfaces, Razorpay online payment and finance dashboards, while Labsmart's basic plan lists billing, reports and QR-coded results. Match the plan to your analyser count and report volume before comparing totals.

If your lab sits inside a hospital, ask whether the HIMS vendor's own lab module can interface with your analysers, or you will pay twice. Our guide to inventory and warehouse software covers the stock-control basics behind reagent management.

Pharmacy inventory SaaS prices

Pharmacy software is the one layer where several vendors publish clear rates, so you can budget before a call.

SoftwarePublished priceNotes
eVitalRx Capsule₹7,500 a year6 staff logins; 24 hours a year of on-call support
eVitalRx Injection₹15,000 a year10 staff logins
eVitalRx Vaccine₹30,000 a year30 staff logins
Medstocksy Professional₹399 a month or ₹3,999 a year (the page shows struck-through ₹500 and ₹6,000)Unlimited products, WhatsApp CRM, inventory forecasting; enterprise plan for up to 5 stores on quote

eVitalRx's page also shows struck-through list prices beside these plans, so confirm the invoice amount before paying. It lists add-ons that matter if you run a hospital pharmacy. Per its pricing page, HMIS integration costs ₹3,000 a year per doctor login, clinical (EMR) integration costs ₹5,000 a year per store, Tally integration costs ₹5,000 a year, and WhatsApp invoice sharing costs ₹25,000 one time. Medstocksy offers a seven-day test plan at ₹50. If a hospital pharmacy bills in-patients, check that the pharmacy product can post charges to the patient's bill instead of printing a separate invoice. Our existing guides to pharmacy software for retail and B2B ordering and billing software for pharmacies cover the retail side, and MocDoc bundles a pharmacy module with its hospital suite.

What government rules add to the cost

Three official sources change what you should ask a hospital software vendor for.

ABDM integration. The NMC's 3 March 2026 letter tells medical colleges to link their attached hospitals' information systems to the ABDM-HMIS portal within 15 days and attaches a step list. The same list says software that is not already ABDM-enabled has to pass milestones M1 to M4 and a certification process. For a private hospital, the practical point is to ask who pays for ABDM work: is it in the licence, or a paid change request? KareXpert says on its homepage that it is ABDM M1, M2 and M3 certified, which is the vendor's own statement. Our clinic software guide for ABDM and e-prescriptions explains the milestones step by step.

Incentives. PIB reports that, as of 18 June 2026, ₹107+ crore had been paid to hospitals under the Digital Health Incentive Scheme, and that 27,283 hospitals were registered under the scheme as of 2 July 2026. Whether your hospital qualifies, and for how much, is set on abdm.gov.in, not by the software vendor.

Insurance claims. PIB says the National Health Claims Exchange had 44,146 software systems connected, with 44,059 hospitals and clinics and 83 insurers on the network, as of 19 June 2026. If cashless insurance is a large share of your revenue, ask each HIMS vendor for its NHCX status in writing. Our guide to medical and insurance billing software covers claim workflows.

The hidden costs that move the total

Ask every vendor to price these lines separately so quotes can be compared.

  1. Onboarding and data migration. CrelioHealth charges ₹10,000 to ₹50,000 for onboarding by plan; others fold it in.
  2. Extra users and doctors. DocEngage and Healthray state that additional providers cost extra and the patient app is billed separately.
  3. Messaging. Labsmart's SMS is 20 paise per credit; CrelioHealth includes SMS credits per month by plan.
  4. Integrations. Analyser interfaces, payment gateways, Tally, HMIS-to-pharmacy links and WhatsApp each appear as separate line items on at least one vendor page above.
  5. Annual price revision. DocEngage's and Healthray's pages both say subscriptions are subject to annual revision.
  6. Taxes. CrelioHealth lists 18% GST on top of its monthly fee, Labsmart lists GST on top of plans, and DocEngage says taxes are extra.

For a quick model, take the licence, add onboarding, add the cost of extra users and messaging at your expected volume, and ask for the second-year price in writing. Three illustrative first-year budgets built only from the published figures above show how the choice plays out.

A 20-bed nursing home with eight staff users on DocEngage or Healthray's hospital plan pays ₹54,000 a year per care centre, against ₹1,24,704 if it were billed per user (8 × ₹15,588). A small diagnostic centre running about 70 tests a day on CrelioHealth Standard pays ₹96,000 in monthly fees plus a ₹10,000 onboarding fee, so ₹1,06,000 before 18% GST on the monthly fee, whereas the same centre on Labsmart's Basic pathology plan would pay ₹4,999 plus GST but must confirm analyser interfacing and report volume. A hospital pharmacy on eVitalRx's Injection plan (₹15,000) with HMIS integration for three doctor logins (₹9,000) and Tally integration (₹5,000) comes to ₹29,000 a year before any other add-on. None of these includes your own hardware, staff time or downtime during cut-over. Hospitals with in-house maintenance teams should also look at CMMS and asset-tracking software and our guide on HR and payroll for hospitals and clinics.

Who should not buy a full HIMS, and what to do instead

If you run an outpatient practice with a handful of doctors, a clinic suite or even a free tool will serve you, and a full HIMS is overkill. PIB's July 2026 backgrounder notes that C-DAC's eSushrut@Clinic is a lightweight HMIS for smaller clinics; confirm its terms with C-DAC. If you run only a collection centre, a LIMS plus a payment gateway is enough. If your hospital group already runs an ERP for accounts, ask vendors for a clean integration rather than a second finance module. For shortlists, browse healthcare software and pharma distribution tools, and use the healthcare CRM guide for providers if patient follow-up is the gap.

FAQs

How much does hospital management software cost in India?

Published prices in October 2026 start at about ₹1,000 a month for a single-doctor clinic on Medoc HMS and ₹1,299 per user per month for DocEngage's and Healthray's hospital plan. Larger hospitals are quoted privately, so there is no reliable single price list.

What is the difference between HIMS and LIMS?

A HIMS runs hospital operations such as admission, beds, billing and pharmacy. A LIMS runs the laboratory: samples, analyser interfaces, validation and reports. Diagnostic centres buy a LIMS alone; hospitals usually need both.

How much does LIMS software cost per month in India?

CrelioHealth lists ₹8,000, ₹15,000 and ₹25,000 a month plus 18% GST on its Standard, Advanced and Premium plans, with onboarding fees. Labsmart lists yearly plans from ₹4,999 plus GST for a basic pathology lab.

Is there pharmacy inventory software under ₹5,000 a year?

Medstocksy lists ₹3,999 a year for its Professional plan on its home page, and eVitalRx's cheapest yearly plan is ₹7,500. Check what each includes before comparing.

Do hospitals have to use ABDM-enabled software?

The NMC's March 2026 letter requires medical colleges to integrate their attached hospitals' HMIS with the ABDM-HMIS portal. For other hospitals we did not find a mandate in the sources we read, but ABDM linkage determines eligibility for incentives and claims exchange.
