Tally Solutions

Tally Solutions is a Bengaluru-based business software company best known for TallyPrime, its accounting, inventory and GST compliance software. Shyam Sunder Goenka and his son Bharat Goenka founded it in 1986. Its first product was called Peutronics Financial Accountant. The company's head office is at AMR Tech Park II, Hongasandra, Bengaluru. The company was set up after the Goenka family's cotton business was destroyed by a fire.

TallyPrime, launched in 2020, succeeded Tally.ERP 9. It covers accounting, inventory, invoicing, GST returns, e-invoicing and e-way bills, payroll and banking, and it runs on Windows. Tally also sells TallyPrime Server for larger multi-user deployments, a rental licence model, and TSS (Tally Software Services) subscriptions for updates and connected services. Tally says more than 2.5 million businesses worldwide use its software.

Tally sells mainly through a partner network of more than 28,000 partners, who handle sales, implementation and support. It offers single-user (Silver) and multi-user (Gold) perpetual licences and rental options, priced in rupees for India. TallyEducation runs training and certification programmes, and the company says it has upskilled more than 800,000 learners.

The company is family-run. Sheela Goenka is Chairperson, Bharat Goenka Vice Chairperson, Tejas Goenka Managing Director and Nupur Goenka Executive Director. Tally operates in 100+ countries, with offices in the Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific, North America and Bangladesh. Tally Solutions Private Limited was formally incorporated in 1991 (CIN U72200KA1991PTC012483). Its registered office is at Raheja Arcade, Koramangala, Bengaluru. The company also runs TallyCapital, which offers business loans through lending partners, and TallyEducation for certification courses.
