Software covered in this blog

Quick answer: Zimyo suits Indian companies of 50 or more employees that want to pay per user and add modules as they grow. Per its pricing page (checked October 2026), plans are Basic ₹80, Standard ₹160 and Enterprise ₹240 per user per month, with a 50-user minimum. For a flat-fee alternative see HROne; for a free-to-start payroll tool see sumHR. Zimyo also sells recruitment, learning and timesheets as separate add-ons.

Why the pricing model matters for growth

Most HR software conversations in India start with "how much per employee?" Zimyo answers that directly. Its plans are priced per user per month, and every tier has a 50-user minimum, so the floor is 50 times the per-user rate. That is the maths we use below, not a quote from Zimyo.

PlanPer user per monthFloor at 50 users (our arithmetic)
Basic₹80₹4,000
Standard₹160₹8,000
Enterprise₹240₹12,000

A per-user model makes costs scale smoothly. Hire 20 more people and the bill rises by a known amount, with no jump to a new bundle. That helps a company planning a hiring year, but it also means a 500-person workforce pays more than a flat-fee product might charge. Run both numbers.

What each plan unlocks

Zimyo's pricing page spells out the ladder:

  • Basic covers core HR (employee management, time and attendance, documents, policy, workflow, roles and permissions, transfer and probation), employee self-service with mobile apps, and basic payroll including salary, compliance, arrears and full and final settlement.
  • Standard adds advanced HR such as onboarding, offboarding, helpdesk, asset and task management and custom dashboards; engagement features such as feed, chat, survey, feedback and recognition; and advanced time tracking with roster, selfie attendance, and overtime and incentive.
  • Enterprise adds finance and admin (expense, travel desk, vendor, petty cash, budgeting, manpower planning), performance management (reviews, OKRs, 9-box matrix, bell curve, compensation) and global payroll (multi-entity, multi-country, multi-currency).

Add-ons are priced separately: Recruit (ATS) at ₹4,000 per recruiter per month, Timesheet at ₹40 per user per month, Learn (LMS) at ₹40 per user per month, Trip Management at ₹40, and HR Analytics at ₹20,000 per licence per month. Digital signature and payouts are contact-sales.

How growth shows up in each plan

At Basic, the win is getting out of Excel. Leave, attendance and salary processing sit in one place, and employees see their own payslips.

At Standard, the win is people operations at scale. A company adding branches benefits from selfie attendance and rosters, and onboarding workflows mean new joiners are not dependent on whoever happens to be in the HR room.

At Enterprise, the win is management control. Reviews, bell curves and manpower planning matter once there are several managers and a budget fight each April.

A worked example from the published numbers: a 120-person services firm would pay 120 × ₹160 = ₹19,200 per month on Standard, against 120 × ₹80 = ₹9,600 on Basic, so Standard costs ₹9,600 more per month at that headcount. Whether onboarding, helpdesk and engagement are worth ₹9,600 a month depends on how much HR time they save.

Scale claims, and how to read them

Zimyo's homepage says "2,500+ Customers", "1M+ Employees", "60+ Modules", "40+ Countries" and "4.5+ average ratings". These are Zimyo's statements. Its own module list covers HR, payroll, performance, engagement, recruitment (ATS) and learning. It also advertises AI agents for payroll, helpdesk, onboarding and HR operations under the name Zim AI. App Advisor lists related products: Zimyo Payroll, Loop by Zimyo for performance and Zimyo Engage.

Treat module counts as breadth, not depth. Ask for a demonstration of the three modules you will use first.

Who Zimyo is not for

  • Companies under 50 people. The 50-user minimum applies, so a 25-person firm pays for 50. Consider sumHR, which lists ₹1,428 per employee per year on its website, or a free tier.
  • Teams that want one flat monthly price. HROne and factoHR publish flat plans for 50 users.
  • Pure attendance buyers. If you only need punching, Truein or ubiAttendance may be cheaper.
  • Companies wanting a transparent price for analytics. The ₹20,000 per licence per month analytics add-on is significant; decide whether the standard dashboards are enough.

Four-week rollout for a 100-person firm

  1. Week 1: choose the tier. Match plan to need. If you do not need onboarding workflows and engagement yet, Basic is enough.
  2. Week 2: import and configure. Load employee data, shifts, holiday lists and leave types.
  3. Week 3: pilot. Pick one department to use selfie attendance and leave approvals for a full week.
  4. Week 4: payroll parallel run and launch. Compare outputs, then switch over.

Review the plan again after one quarter. Upgrading to Standard once the basics are stable is easier than paying for features nobody is trained to use.

Questions to put to Zimyo

  • Does the 50-user minimum count active employees only?
  • Which add-ons will I realistically need in year one?
  • What implementation or training fee applies?
  • How are statutory filings handled for my states?

Choosing the tier: simple decision rules

Per-user pricing makes it tempting to buy Basic and stop. These rules help you decide.

Stay on Basic if your HR work is mostly records, leave, attendance and monthly payroll, your team is one or two people, and nobody is asking for onboarding workflows or surveys.

Move to Standard if you onboard new people every month and the process leaks (documents missing, equipment late), you run shifts or rosters, or you want recognition and survey tools to manage attrition. Selfie attendance and overtime rules also sit here, which matters for site-based teams.

Move to Enterprise if you have a finance and admin burden around travel, vendors and petty cash, you run formal reviews with calibration, or you operate more than one legal entity or country.

A caution: a tier is only worth its price if someone owns the new features. A recognition feed with no champion stays empty. Name an owner for every module you pay for.

Budget scenarios using only the published rates

These are our calculations from the published per-user prices; they exclude add-ons and taxes.

  • 60 users, Basic: 60 × ₹80 = ₹4,800 per month.
  • 60 users, Standard: 60 × ₹160 = ₹9,600 per month.
  • 200 users, Standard: 200 × ₹160 = ₹32,000 per month.
  • 200 users, Enterprise: 200 × ₹240 = ₹48,000 per month.
  • Add a recruiter licence: ₹4,000 per recruiter per month on top.

Put these against what you spend today on manual HR time, payroll errors and software you would retire. If you cannot name what the new system replaces, the saving is theoretical.
